DJI ROMO: Cleaning robots with drone technology

  • Millimeter-precise detection with fisheye cameras and LiDAR to avoid thin cables and objects
  • Up to 25.000 Pa and 20 L/s, anti-tangle brushes and flexible arms for edges and corners
  • Self-cleaning base with 4 jets, 16 mm outlet, 12 N of pressure and up to 200 days without maintenance
  • Three models (P, A and S) from €1.299 in Spain, control via the DJI Home app and privacy features

DJI ROMO Cleaning Robots

DJI brings its expertise in navigation and sensors to the home with ROMO, its first family of cleaning robots available in Europe. Designed to move precisely around the house, they combine vision and LiDAR technology with algorithms to reduce errors and bottlenecks in daily operations.

The range arrives in Spain in three versions: ROMO P, ROMO A, and ROMO S, which share key features such as up to 25.000 Pa of suction power, the DJI Home app, and a self-cleaning base. The P model adds distinctive features, such as transparent panels which reveal the interior and a compartment for deodorant.

Drone technology applied to domestic navigation

The heart of ROMO lies in its perception system: dual fisheye cameras high-performance and a dual-transmitter, wide-angle solid-state LiDAR. This combination enables reliable environment recognition and avoid very fine obstacles, such as 2 mm charging cables or even letters on the floor.

Thanks to its wide field of vision and machine learning, the robot moves with ease. under beds and sofaseven in low light, and reduces blind spots when planning trajectories. The route adjusts on the fly to avoid irregular or unexpected furniture, minimizing unnecessary turns and stops.

The approach is practical: in areas with delicate objects or potential tangles, the system prioritizes the precision and safety of the displacement to maintain stable cleaning performance.

Vacuuming and mopping performance

DJI ROMO cleaning robot mopping floors

ROMO combines a high-performance engine with an optimized internal design to deliver up to 25.000 pascals and an airflow of up to 20 liters per second. When it detects loose debris such as sand for catsIt reduces the forward speed and the speed of the side brush to avoid scattering them.

The roller brushes, powered by two high-torque motorsThey channel dust and particles into a central duct, facilitating suction and the collection of long hair without tangling. In addition, retractable flexible arms that reach edges and corners, and adapt to the contour of furniture and baseboards.

For washing up, the integrated tank of 164 ml It keeps the mops moist throughout the cycle and adjusts the flow rate for stubborn stains. The process prioritizes sweeping before moppingso that the dirt is not dragged along or spread.

The ROMO P includes a compartment for floor deodorizer which is applied along with the cleaning solution to the mops when configured by the user, and a noise reduction chamber that softens the sound of the airflow during cleaning.

Self-cleaning base, app and availability in Spain

DJI Robot Self-Cleaning Base

The base station integrates an aerodynamically designed washboard to prevent buildup and facilitate maintenance. four high-pressure water jets and a 16 mm waste outlet, thoroughly wash the mops by applying 12 newtons of downward force. The system is designed to function up to 200 days without intervention and features three-stage sound suppression that reduces dust collection noise by around 80%.

In day-to-day use, the robot admits 55W fast charge and completes a charge in approximately 2,5 hours. The entire ecosystem is managed from the DJI Home app, which offers predefined modes and custom plans.

  • Smart carpet cleaning: detects its size and location and adapts the power accordingly.
  • Threshold recognition: skirts and cleans without over-crossing them.
  • Kitchens and bathrooms: apply cleaning solution and return to wash the mops to avoid cross contamination.
  • Areas with pets: reduce speed and increase suction to pick up hair and remains.

The robot's sensors allow remote monitoring home security, with two-step authentication on first access, video encryption in transmission and the option to completely disable the camera function when not in use.

In Spain and the rest of Europe, the series is marketed in three configurations: ROMO P from €1.899, ROMO A from €1.599 and ROMO S from €1.299through the DJI store and authorized dealers. Depending on the launch promotion, the following may apply Discounts of up to €200 for a limited period.

DJI also offers an after-sales plan with extended coverage through the Extended Protection Planwhich adds an extra year of warranty on the robot and the base (information available at store.dji.comThe ecosystem is completed with official accessories such as mops, brushes, dust bags, cleaning solutions and auxiliary ramps.

With this launch, the firm applies its expertise in navigation and sensors to a competitive segment, prioritizing reliable detectionsustained power and simplified maintenance; a proposal focused on covering the entire house with the least possible effort for the user.
