Do you need to know how to reset a Sony Xperia S?. Through this new entry in the guide for Android, we are going to learn three forms to format and restart in factory mode Smartphone Sony Xperia S.
We explain below, several resources before a problem event that arises on the mobile phone. And that does not allow us to recover its normal operation. The action called 'Hard reset' of the Sony Xperia or hard reset. We will do this only when we have no other solution to the problem we have.
This can happen as a result of some badly installed or uninstalled application. To that we do not remember the unlock pattern or the password of the phone. That is, any circumstance that blocks the mobile and does not respond.
To hard reset Sony Xperia:
Procedures on how to reset a Sony Xperia S
Remember that the 'Hard reset' will erase all mobile data, so before doing it, if possible, it is essential to carry out a Backup of all our data, documents, contacts, messages, files, tones, etc.
Likewise, we advise you to fully charge the battery. Remove the SIM card and SD card from the Smartphone.
First option. How to restart a Sony Xperia S (Soft reset)
The first step we must take if the device freezes or does not respond. And that is to hold down the power button for about 8 to 10 seconds. With that we will do a mobile restart, also called «soft-reset«.
For more information about this step, you can consult the Xperia S own guide.
Second option. How to format a Sony Xperia S (via the Settings Menu)
If this does not solve the problem, there is no other option but to do a factory data reset. In this way we are going to format a Sony Xperia S:
- Remove the SIM card
- On the home screen, tap: Menu and select Settings
- Then Backup and reset
- Then Factory data reset
- Then reset phone
- And finally Delete everything.
Attention, formatting the Sony Xperia erases all the data on the phone.
Third option. How to reset and Hard reset Sony Xperia S (Combination of buttons)
With the phone powered off, simultaneously press and hold the keys de camera, turn up the volume y power button. A menu should then appear on the phone. Use the volume down button to navigate through the menu and choose the recovery option. To select it press the volume up button (if it doesn't work, use the power button to select).
A yellow triangle and the Android logo will appear. Now press both volume keys at the same time to bring up the recovery menu. scroll through the menu with the volume down button until the factory data reset option. Use the power button to select. Use the volume button again to hover over the Yes option and accept it by pressing the power button.

Well it doesn't work
I have an Xperia S in which only Sony and Xperia appear alternately and nothing else…. When I press 8-10 seconds the home button turns off and the battery symbol appears…. If I start nothing… The little signs already said….. If I do the method of pressing the three keys at the same time, it only vibrates three times and that's it…. There is no menu or anything... I can't use method two because I can't even get to the home screen... Does anyone know what I can do apart from throwing it in the trash, of course?
Problem
Hello, the Xperia s that I have belonged to my grandfather. He had set an unlock pattern (of course I don't know what it is) to recover the mobile he has set a security question or the option to do it with his email. Without these options I only have the ones you put. However, the last option does not work for me, which is the only one that could give me results, but pressing the indicated keys does not give me results. With the code to enter the emergency call it doesn't work either, what do I do?

BLACK SCREEN NOT RESPONDING
I tell you that the only option that "unlocked" it, so to speak, was the last option to combine keys. I thought I was left without a phone because it didn't respond to anything, the screen didn't turn on either!
Thanks for the information!!!!

[quote name=”horacio”]Hello, good afternoon, first of all, thank you very much for this space.
I would like to know if you can help me.
I have a sony xperia st26a cell phone, which I was updating through sony pc company, unfortunately the installation froze and now the cell phone no longer turns on, when connecting it to the sony pc company it does not recognize it as such; When I try to turn it on, the red low battery light shows me, but when I connect it to charge, in less than a minute the green charged light turns on.
I already tried the 3 options to reset it, unfortunately none works for me because my cell phone does not turn on at all, it does nothing when I press the sound and power keys.
I hope and have some software to revive it.
I remain at your disposal for any help or comment.

Hi Horacio, if the update was interrupted, I think the only option is to apply an official Sony rom of that model. I don't know if it will be available for download, but it may be a better option, talk to Sony technical service or take it to the store in case they can repair it faster.
Please help with sony xperia st26a totally dead
