A very successful tool on other social networks like Instagram and Facebook now comes to WhatsApp: Interactive polls in the statesThe new feature is already being tested in beta version for iOS devices.
Surveys were already available on WhatsApp since 2022. These were limited to chats, both individual and group. The feature is now also included in the statuses, providing a new function to interact within the platform.
It is still in beta phase, available only for iOS users of the TestFlight test programSpecifically, the feature has been implemented in the beta version of the iOS app (24.20.10.70) through a sticker, similar to what is already seen on Instagram and Facebook. If the tests are successful, the feature will be rolled out in a future update for all iOS users, and will later be available on Android.
How do interactive polls work in WhatsApp statuses?
WhatsApp users on iOS will be able to create interactive polls in your states through a sticker. Just like they would do in Instagram stories, through these polls, WhatsApp contacts will be able to vote directly from the status update.
To create a poll, while you are editing a status, you will be able to swipe up to access the stickers menu, where you will now find the poll option. From there, you will be able to configure several possible answers, or limit the vote to a single option. That is, you will be able to create polls with open questions or for more specific queries.
Your contacts will be able to vote, but they will not be able to see who voted or the individual choices of other participants. So the vote remains completely anonymousWhat will be known, however, are the overall results. These will be visible to both the creator of the state and any other viewer.
More interaction in WhatsApp statuses
In addition to the interactive surveys in WhatsApp statuses, other functions are also added, one of them being the reactions with different emojis and the other is power upload a status again in which a contact mentions you, are called WhatsApp mentions. It is a function similar to sharing stories on Instagram.
We also want to mention another new feature of WhatsApp specifically for iOS. The latest update of WhatsApp for iOS introduces the option of react to statuses with a “Like” without having to open a direct chat. This feature is similar to Instagram, where you can indicate that you like a story with a simple tap.
