The Chinese company is finalizing the details of its next flagship device. The Xiaomi 18 Pro will be officially unveiled on September 23rd and, as we've learned, will come with significant new features across the board: from a 2-nanometer processor to a dual 200-megapixel rear camera system co-engineered with Leica.
With this new generation, Xiaomi aims to differentiate itself from its direct competitors, such as the recently released iPhone 18 Pro. This differentiation stems not only from raw power but also from enhanced privacy features and battery life. Below, we review everything known about the device so far before its official launch.
Design and display: narrow bezels and built-in privacy

The new phone maintains the sleek, straight-lined aesthetic with a unibody design and rounded edges for a more comfortable grip. But the most striking feature is on the back, where the secondary screen, first introduced in the previous generation, now takes center stage, offering the ability to create small, customized apps powered by AI.
On the front, the bezels are reduced to 0,99 millimeters, allowing the screen to occupy virtually the entire surface. The Super Pixel 2.0 panel uses M11 technology with a new green light-emitting material, achieving a peak brightness of 4.000 nits and 20% greater luminous efficiency than the previous generation. It also incorporates a hardware-level privacy feature that limits content visibility beyond a 60-degree viewing angle, similar to that of the Galaxy S26 Ultra but with a full RGB matrix that prevents loss of sharpness.
200 MP Leica Cameras

In terms of photography, Xiaomi has once again partnered with Leica. The setup will consist of two 200-megapixel sensors: a large-format main sensor and a periscope telephoto lens, also with that resolution. A third camera will be added for greater versatility, ideal for those looking for professional camera apps for Android . According to leaks, the focal range will extend from 17mm to 75mm, with a 3,2x periscope zoom. The company claims this will be the most advanced configuration in its history for a flagship series.
Performance and battery

Under the hood, the Xiaomi 18 Pro will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor, manufactured using a 2-nanometer process. This was revealed in a recent Geekbench appearance, where the device scored 8.836 points in multi-core and 2.871 in single-core , with a maximum frequency of 5,01 GHz. It will come with 16 GB of RAM and run HyperOS 4 , based on Android 17.
Regarding the battery, the standard model will have a 7.000 mAh cell, while the Pro Max version will reach 8.500 mAh. Both use a new generation of Jinshajiang batteries with 32% silicon content , allowing for greater energy density without increasing volume. Fast wired charging will be 100W, according to the leaked 3C certification, allowing your phone to charge faster.
Software and privacy

One of the highlights of this generation is the hardware-level privacy screen , a feature similar to the one Samsung introduced in the Galaxy S26 Ultra, but with a different approach. Xiaomi uses a full RGB array of 9,5 million subpixels which, along with the baffles, reduces side brightness to as little as 1% at angles of 60 degrees or higher. It can be configured globally, per app, or even in specific floating windows and notifications on the lock screen.
Artificial intelligence will also be heavily featured on the rear screen, where small widgets such as timers, reminders, or even vocabulary exercises can be run without needing to open the main screen. All of this runs on HyperOS 4, which adds new customization and connectivity features.
With all these ingredients, the Xiaomi 18 Pro is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of the year. The official launch will take place on September 23rd at 13:00 PM (Spanish peninsular time), when the company will reveal the remaining details, including pricing for the European market. We'll have to wait a few more weeks to find out about availability and the final price, but what's clear is that Xiaomi is arriving with the intention of taking on the industry giants with a device that focuses entirely on power, photography, and privacy.
