Chinese firm Xiaomi has taken a decisive step toward bringing its electric cars to Europe. The company has launched a global website for its automotive division and opened profiles on social media, confirming its arrival on the continent in 2027. The announcement, made subtly, was celebrated by its founder, Lei Jun, with a message in X: "I've been looking forward to this."

The new website, available in English, serves as Xiaomi Auto's introduction to the international market. It showcases some of the models already sold in Asia, such as the SU7 sedan and the YU7 SUV, along with high-performance versions. The company states that its goal is to "manufacture high-quality, intelligent, electrified vehicles" and that its arrival in Europe will be the first major step in its international expansion.

Official confirmation and delivery figures

Although the exact date hasn't been confirmed, all indications point to Xiaomi's first cars arriving in Europe sometime in 2027. The company already has a research and development center in Munich and has begun posting job openings for its future after-sales network. It has also opened a channel for dealerships and distribution partners to contact the brand.

Regarding deliveries, Xiaomi has surpassed 700.000 units cumulatively through July, according to the company's own data. In 2025 alone, it delivered 411.082 vehicles, compared to 136.854 in 2024. This installed base allows it to refine its software and prepare for European homologation, which will be more stringent than the Chinese standard.

The automotive division generated revenues of 103.300 billion yuan (approximately €12.900 billion ) in 2025. Although it is not yet profitable, the company continues to invest in this business, especially now that the profitability of its smartphones is declining.

Models, prices and strategy in Spain

Xiaomi's current lineup in China includes the SU7, a sedan starting at 219.900 yuan (approximately €28.100), with up to 680 hp and a 902 km CLTC range. The YU7, an SUV, starts at 233.500 yuan (€29.800) and offers versions with up to 691 hp. At the top of the range are the SU7 Ultra, with 1.548 hp and a price of 529.900 yuan (€67.600), and the YU7 GT, with 990 hp and 389.900 yuan (€49.800). These figures are direct conversions and do not reflect final prices in Europe.

The advertised range is measured using the CLTC cycle, which is more optimistic than the European WLTP, so real-world figures will be lower. Even so, Xiaomi's proposition relies on integration with its ecosystem : the HyperOS system , the 16,1-inch central screen, and over-the-air updates transform the car into an extension of the mobile device.

Regarding Spain, Xiaomi President Lu Weibing has indicated that the brand's awareness in the country exceeds 95%, making it a priority market . Spain is expected to be one of the first countries to receive the cars, along with other European markets. Xiaomi will thus join the more than 30 Chinese brands already operating in Spain, which sold 111.345 cars in the first seven months of 2026, representing approximately 15% of the total.

With its global website now live and preparations underway, Xiaomi is all set to launch in Europe in 2027. The company arrives with a well-established product range, competitive pricing, and an ecosystem-focused strategy. It remains to be seen which specific models will arrive first and at what price, but what is certain is that the European market will have a new competitor with a lot to offer.
