ESET's analysis of the Magis TV APK revealed the presence of critical and invasive permissions that are not typical of a conventional streaming app. According to the specialists, these permissions could be exploited for malicious purposes. For this reason, the application was once again classified as a "potentially unwanted application" (PUA).

- android.permission.GET_TASKSThis allows you to retrieve information about running tasks. In the hands of malware, it can be used to infer private information about device usage or other applications.
- android.permission.MOUNT_UNMOUNT_FILESYSTEMSEnables the mounting and unmounting of file systems for removable storage. An attacker could cause damage or compromise the security of the device.
- android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS: allows posting notifications, which could facilitate the sending of spam, phishing, or inappropriate content.

ESET expert González Cuautle pointed out: “These risks imply that stealing information from users of these types of applications is theoretically feasible with the aforementioned permissions.” He added: “This is due to the critical nature of the permissions granted during application installation, as they can download and install other tools or applications capable of tracking geolocation, accessing multimedia content such as photos, audio, messages, and videos, and sending them to external servers without the user's consent.”
