Ever since we started hearing about Android Nougat , which corresponds to Android 7, many of us have been eager to try out its new features. However, Google had only offered a brief " late summer " when asked about the release date of the new operating system at the press conference.
But although summer technically lasts until September, it's very likely that the first smartphones will start receiving it in August . The Nexus devices will be the first to experience the Nougat update…
Android 7.0 Nougat could start arriving in August. When will Android Nougat arrive on your smartphone?
The Nexus 9, one of the first to receive it
If you own a Nexus 9, you're in luck, because you'll be one of the first to enjoy Android N on your phone. We already know that Google usually prioritizes its own smartphones when releasing updates, and it seems this time will be no exception.
Also, other recent devices like the Nexus 6p or Nexus 5X may also receive the new OS soon.
New Nexus devices running Android Nougat
In addition to the Nexus smartphones we've already mentioned, there have also been reports in recent months that Google might launch two new devices that will also come with Android Nougat as their operating system from the start, without the need to wait for updates. These devices could also arrive before the end of summer , coinciding with the release of Android N.
HTC, one of the first brands to confirm updates
Although Android Nougat is expected to arrive on virtually all high-end smartphones, the reality is that most manufacturers have remained silent on the matter. HTC has, however , confirmed that the new version of the operating system will be available for the HTC 10, the HTC One M9, and the HTC One A9 , though no release date has been announced.
Motorola has also confirmed that the latest version of Android will arrive on the Moto G4 . Brands like Samsung and LG haven't commented on the matter yet, but it's highly likely that their high-end Android phones will also receive the update.
