You have to restore to factory settings. Press the menu key and the on/off key at the same time until the hidden menu appears (it is in English). Most versions of Kies 2.0 or higher are not compatible with Galaxy Ace. Install Kies 1.5 and see how it works for you. All the best
I also have a Galaxy Ace 5830. I also had problems with Kies. Using the logic I came to the conclusion (and it was) that if it worked with the previous versions, that was the problem. Once kies is installed, connect the mobile, if it doesn't recognize it, click on solve connection problem, and after that restart the pc. So you must recognize it.

Hello! I had the same problem, that I didn't get a CD in the box of my mobile phone and my PC didn't recognize it via USB. Well, I already got it and I want to share it to serve as a "help" to those who have not been able to do it.
I first downloaded this program (Kies). Then I did what Furyy Gedman said, “Settings/applications/development” and turned off “USB debugging”, connected the phone with the cable to the PC and on the home screen of the phone I slid down the notifications and put “ activate the usb storage device» I clicked and then clicked again the opened the program. I didn't do anything else, I just waited for the program to recognize all the files that are inside my mobile and that's it.

Look you go to the Menu you enter Settings and it will say Development you enter there and it will say USB Debugging uncheck it and immediately you will see how your computer recognizes it as an installed driver, and once you have done this you only have to slide from where it says SAMSUNG downwards because You see that a bar appears with some wifi bluetooth gps sound auto rotation icons.
