Dead Cells is possibly one of the best platformers out there. I'm talking about the best level of Super Meat Boy. Early last year, Dead Cells launched on iOS, with the promise of an Android release.
The developers didn't say when, just that the game would 'eventually' come to Android. Fans of the platform game will have to wait a bit longer before being able to play it on Android, as new reports indicate that the game will not launch on the platform until the third quarter of 2020.
Dead Cells Android for the end of 2020?
According to their official Twitter account, they report on the Android game:
The Android version will be out in the third quarter of 2020. We are also working on the content update, but we do not have a date to share at this time. Finally, we'll catch up with the console/PC versions.

Dead Cells is a platform game based on exploration and action. Players explore a series of dungeons and fight the creatures within.
These are some of the features that will come with the mobile version.
- Roguevania: The progressive exploration of an interconnected world, with the replayability and adrenaline-pumping menace of permadeath
- Fast-paced, dynamic 2D action: learn your enemies' patterns to stay alive, or prepare to be sent back to your cell before you can say "wait"
- Non-Linear Progression – Unlock new levels with every kill, choose the path that suits your current progression, your playstyle, or just your mood. Surely, walls can't be as bad as sewers, right?
- Play at your own pace: will you explore every corner of the castle or rush to the end?
- Carefully redesigned for mobile devices with a refreshed interface
- Two game modes available: Original and Auto-Hit
- Custom controls and more touch controls options available: change the position and size of the buttons as you like, swipe to dodge…
- MFi external controller support
- Pay once to get the full Dead Cells experience! No ads, no F2P mechanics!
Like the iOS version, its Android sibling should be $9.99 with no in-app purchases to muddy the waters.

Please note that this game is all about reflections and was not designed to be played on a touch screen.
Hopefully the developers will make the mobile version touchscreen friendly. Still, I recommend you play with a controller for the 'real' Dead Cells experience.
This is one of the few titles that could take full advantage of the high refresh rate display offered by devices like the ASUS ROG Phone 2 and Razer Phone 2.
