Do you need to reset the bq Aquaris E5 and format it to factory mode? If you have a BQ Aquaris E5, your device is probably some time old, and it is possible that it no longer works as it did in the beginning. So it might be a good time to format and reset to factory settings. Especially if it is giving you performance problems, applications do not open properly, android bugs, menu transitions are jerky or you have been infected by an Android virus or malware.
The fact format and restart the BQ Aquaris E5 to factory mode, it will leave it the same as when you bought it and took it out of the box for the first time. Although it is a very simple process, we recommend that you make a backup copy of everything on your Aquaris E5 before doing so.
How to format and reset the BQ Aquaris E5
To format the BQ Aquaris E5, we have 2 ways to do it.
- One through the settings menu
- another through the Recovery menu, which is accessed by the volume and power buttons on the smartphone.
We are going to use one or the other, depending on the problem that our BQ has. If you let us access the settings menu, it is the easiest way. If it does not let us access the Aquaris E5 settings, we will have the option to format using buttons and the Recovery menu.
Format via Settings menu
If you can power on the phone normally and access the settings menu, the process will be a bit easier.
You will simply have to follow the following steps, to reset to factory mode, the BQ Aquaris E5:
- Access the Settings menu, either through the desktop icon or the notification bar.
- Enter the Backup submenu.
- Select the Factory data reset option.
- Tap the Reset phone option.
After accepting the warnings that everything on our BQ phone will be erased, the formatting and reboot process will begin.
Reboot using Recovery buttons and menu – Hard reset
Whether you choose this method or the previous one, we recommend that you first make a backup your data. And it is that by resetting to factory settings, your smartphone will remain as when you took it out of the box, so you will lose all your data.
This second method is the one that you can use when your smartphone does not turn on or you cannot access the normal menus. The process is the following:
- Fully charge the Aquaris E5 battery to ensure that the process does not stop halfway due to lack of battery. That would be fatal.
- Press and hold the Volume + keys and the power button at the same time, until you see the Android symbol appear on the screen.
- Press the power button again until the recovery menu appears on the screen.
- Move around this menu with the Volume key - until choosing the Wipe Dara Factory Reset option and confirm with the Volume key +.
- In the new menu that we find, we use the Voumen key again – to select the Yes, Delete all user data option and confirm again with the Volume + key.
- Now we will have to wait for the BQ to be formatted, when it is finished we will have to use the Volume key again - to select the Reboot System Now option and confirm with the Volume key +
When we have followed all these steps, our BQ Aquaris E5 will be the same as when we took it out of the box the day we bought it. Now you will simply have to start it again with your Google account – Gmail, etc. You have to install your applications, copy your data, and you can use the phone again as the first day.
I have had an Aquarius U2 lite for 5 years or so and I stopped using it because the screen was broken. Today I wanted to use it, because my current mobile is under repair and since I had old data entered, I reset it and now that I want to log in I have to do it with an account that I used there, I enter it but of course, I don't know the password, so I saved the recovery account that I have not used for centuries. And there is no way to get in because I am stuck there. Is there something that can be done?
