The Emoji 13.0 list has been announced by the Unicode Consortium. Includes 117 new emojis, including bubble tea, pinched fingers, ninja, piñata, gender-neutral people in tuxedos and veils, and various animals and insects.
They should be part of Android, iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Windows updates in 2020.
The focus of emoji updates for this year has been diverse, gender-neutral characters and various animals and foods. Santa, person in a tuxedo and person with a veil are some of the new gender-neutral emojis.
New foods include bubble tea, olives, teapot, and fondue. Animals like black cat, bison and polar bear are also part of the updates. Insects like fly, cockroach and worm also made the final cut. You will also be able to use an anatomically correct version of the human heart as an emoji.
Emoji 13.0 arrives in 2020
New emojis are now added to the Unicode standard annually. These emojis are proposed by different companies such as Google, Apple and Twitter, and finished at the beginning of the year. This allows enough time for these platforms to include them in future updates.
