Most mobile phone rates , they usually have a limit for data usage. A limit that, if exceeded, can cause us to reduce the speed or in the case of some companies, especially low cost, suppose an increase in the bill. But controlling the number of data consumed is not as easy as controlling the minutes, so it is possible that we get lost at some point and we go overboard with our android mobile or tablet.
so you can always keep track of what you have spent in a month and never accidentally go over, in this tutorial, we are going to find the way to know the data you have spent and even set a limit to make sure we don't go over the red line and all this without the need for a third-party application, if you have on your android device, latest versions of the Android system.
Control and limit data usage on Android
How to know the data we have spent in a month
To know the number of megabytes that we have consumed so far this month, we will simply have to go to Settings>Wireless connections>Data usage. There we can find a graph in which our consumption will be seen during the last 30 days.
How to add a limit to not consume more data from the account
To establish a limit, we will only have in the same screen of the graph that we mentioned before, that we mark the option Set mobile data limit. Once we have done it, we can move the red line that appears, to the point where we want, which will normally be the maximum number of megabytes that we have contracted with our company, to avoid being overcharged. What is also done is to put the line about 100 or 200 megabytes before our limit, so if in the middle of the month we go too far, it already tells us that for the rest of the month, we are going to go just with data .
If we want our terminal to send us a warning, at the moment in which the limit that we have set for ourselves is approaching, we will simply have to do the same with the orange line, so that we place it a little earlier so that we are aware that we have to cut back a bit on data usage.
Set data limit on older versions of Android
If your smartphone uses Gingerbread or an earlier version of the operating system, the only solution to do the same thing will be to install an additional application. Onavo Count is one of the most popular and its users are very satisfied with the results.
