Most operators already give the option to update the Samsung Galaxy S2 to Android 4.1.2 Ice Jelly bean, so you will receive a notification on your mobile that an update is available. You can also receive the update notification through Samsung Kies.
If you have not received the notification and do not want to wait, in this guide for android in the form of a video tutorial, we explain how to update the Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 to android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, in its official version of Samsung, through update by odin and in several steps. After reading more, all the details.
Comment before you start, so you don't miss any details of the video and this procedure. On some Galaxy S2 among which is our, when doing this update, release is lost and once updated, it asks us to unlock the network to be able to connect and make calls, etc.
Very important. So before you start, it is recommended make a backup of the EFS folder
We did not do it, we found the mobile unable to make calls or receive them, but as we will explain in a future article, we rooted it and applied an app called Galaxy Sim Unlock Pro from google play by 2 €, but that will give for another article that we will publish shortly.

Considerations:
REMEMBER, if you carry out this process, it is under your responsibility, if you leave any of these steps to chance, you may find yourself with a mobile turned into a brick as a paperweight, worth several hundred euros, check the comments on this article to see what other users who have done it think. The author of this article disclaims any issues that may arise from installing this update.
Preparations:
– We unzip the downloaded file with the ROM, to have the Odin program and the update file at hand.
- We uninstall or disable whatever firewall, firewall, antivirus, or security package on our computer, which can interfere with the usb connection, otherwise, when launching the download with Odin, it will not recognize the SGS2 connection. The Samsung Kies program must be closed, not running, when launching the download with Odin. As seen in the video, there should be no kies process running.
- Don't do the update of the mobile with low battery, do the update with Full load. If you do it from a portable, that it is loaded 100% battery and plugged into electricity. If during the update the PC or laptop is turned off, you may have a serious problem with your Galaxy S2.
– It is very important not to interrupt the process at any time, once the download of the update with odin has started.
After the steps discussed in the video and if we have done everything right, we will have our Samsung Galaxy S2 with 4.1.2 Android Jelly Bean , as seen in the video.
Shortly, we will publish the procedure with which we have unlocked our Samsung Galaxy S2 updated to Jelly bean, rooting it first and then buying an app called Galaxy Sim Unlock Pro from google play by 2 €.

I installed and it was great, very good tutorial 😉
But I don't like it, I like the other version better (although I don't remember the version I had, a 4.0.x version that was very cool and handled perfectly XD), this one slows down my mobile a lot and when I listen to music and do something else it It gives to cut the music a little, apart from visual things such as the strange divisible background or directly being able to take an entire background photo without having to cut it out yes or yes...
The thing is: can I restore it to the version it had before? and how?
Thank you ^^
Yes you can, you have to download the previous version 4.0.4 and apply it as with odin. There are several tutorials on the internet, you just have to follow one.

I did the update and now when I turn on the phone it asks me for the "encrypted storage pin" and I can't get past it! that is, it does not advance and the phone stays there.
I don't think it has to do with the sim lock because it doesn't even have it placed!

My SII is free. Is it worth the JB that is posted, or is it for some company? Being free, I won't have any problem with any SIM?
Hello, today I started downloading the programs to update my s2, and the rom package is downloading perfectly, but with the "odin" program I can't even start downloading it.
When applying the link to download it, it takes me to a page (mediafire.com) which tells me the following:
“The file belongs to the suspended account.
The resource you are trying to access belongs to an account that has been suspended
Still have questions or think we've made a mistake? Please contact support for help»
Anyway, I can't even start my update because of this problem, I hope to have an answer, and thanks for all the video and others on this page.
PS: if I download the odin from another side, will it be the same? Am I not going to have complications or unforeseen events?
Thank you very much, Mauro.
Hello, how are you, I'm new to the Android system, I have the Galaxy S2, and yesterday I updated to jelly bean 4.1.2, which changed a lot, which I think is the same as the GS3, but the only thing I can't do and modify is my lock or home screen, I have several images with the size of the screen, and when I want to define my image I get the image box below:
As you can see, that box, I cannot lengthen it, it only limits that space and I cannot put the complete image, if I put it like this, it only cuts me out and creates me as a zoom, which does not happen in the S3.
If anyone knows, I'd really appreciate it.
Hello friend, very good video tutorial, I am about to start the process, what are the chances that I will have to unlock the device after the update if my device is already unlocked?
Thanks, many possibilities since flashing deletes the EFS folder where the imei info is, etc. However, there are some that are not deleted, I could not tell you why.
